Am I really this far ahead?

Getting up close with my Buddie's
Charlie’s first outing in Hyde Park with the best of the British youths was a great experience on Sunday morning. After spending the weekend watching the Elite Men & Women put on a great show it was time for Charlie to give it a go.
Early nerves setting up in transition sharp disappeared once he was in the water & the claxon sounded. A few elbows & a punch in the face in a field of 35 boys Charlie emerged out of the water in 11th place going into T1.
The fast cycle section sorted the men (big boys) out from boys & Charlie struggled to keep up the pace entered T2 in 33rd place.
Once out on the run he pulled a couple of places back & eventually finished in 29th place.
Overall it has been a fantastic experience to compete in such a prestigious event & would not have missed it for the world.
Thanks for all your support.
One life was represented by 2 One Lifers on Sunday Charlie & Poppy Harris-Pratt who didn’t disappoint.
Poppy went first & was out of the swim in the lead but came out of T1 in 3rd place. She stayed 3rd but only started to do an extra bike lap before realising her mistake. Poppy made up an extra place on the run with a sprint finish to come 3rd in her wave but a well deserved 4th overall.
Charlie was up against some stiff opposition & was second out of the pool to Fraser Ronan Minnican from Barrow & came out of T1 3rd behind Luke Parkin.Fraser pulled ahead with a strong bike section to stay in first place going into T2 & Charlie still in 3rd place after going around the wrong section into transition. A strong run again from Charlie picked up a place up to 2nd but Fraser had too much of a lead on a short run course to catch up. Overall Charlie came 2nd to a boy who broke the course record & we later found out has been picked for the GB swimming squad. This will be the type of competition Charlie will facing in Hyde Park on Saturday & the IRCs next month. Bring it on…….
