Just a reminder to all of our members in the club that we have our own buy and sell site ONEBAY.
As the weather improves (well Ok it’s rubbish again) we are all starting to think about the new season.
So please use ONEBAY to sell sports kit and to advertise for ‘wanted’ items too.
Contact myself Susanbell2@btinternet.com and I shall put your items on the site or display your request.
Happy shopping/exchanging
I have earned the club 62p!
Buying stuff via easyfundraising is a piece of cake. Register yourself and onelife as your good cause and then log in to their site and ‘click through’ to the shopping site you want.
Go for it and see if you can double my total!
As we enter the holiday season I thought I might start a challenge to see how far afield a One Life T-shirt or hoodie can travel
Here is Jem Cook in Portugal in 2008 at the start of the coastal bike ride along the Algarve coast. (Note the key missing equipment; bike, helmet, shoes etc)
Here is the same T-shirt in Crete this year about to go on a boat trip where it doubled
as a sun hat and then sick bag! Nice!
Make sure you take your T-shirt or Hoodie with you and take a photo for this blog!
After beg, stealing (not literally) and borrowing two One Life Tri Suits Max
and Abbie Pearson headed off to Yorkshire to spread the One Life word. A
weekend in Wakefield commenced with an aerial assault course 15m above
ground level in the Xscape Complex and was completed by taking part in the
Wakefield Junior Triathlon.
Abbie kicked off the competition in the Tristart age group. She had a great
start recording the fastest swim in her age group, followed by a tough cycle
race which took her into transition in third place. She held that position
to the end and was rewarded for her efforts with a trophy.
Max was in the next age group, Tristar1. He had a great race. He struggled
a little in the 15m pool and came out third in his wave. He then had an
awesome bike ride over taking one bike and catching the leader. His
transition was slower than the first place competitor so he ran about 10m
behind for the duration of the run.
On the last lap Max went for it. He
started to close the gap on the Yorkshire man and was on his shoulder when
he crossed the finish line. Both Max and the winner recorded the same time,
with Max taking second place by a fraction of a second.
Both kids wore their One Life t-shirts with pride when collecting their
trophies.
The Wakefield Junior Tri was very well organised, definitely the second best
the kids have competed in!
