We run coached sessions for both adult and junior members in all three triathlon disciplines. All our coaches have current DBS certificates and British Triathlon coaching qualifications at Level 1, 2 or 3. Some also have additional qualifications specific to athletics, open water swimming or British Cycling qualifications, specific to cycling.
All our coaches are volunteers and give freely of their time and expertise to enhance everyone’s progress and enjoyment of our sport. Most of our coached sessions take place at Hexham’s Wentworth Leisure centre which has a 25m, 6 lane swimming pool and a 400m all weather running track.
Our coaching team is led by the Head Coach, Barry Jameson. If you have any queries regarding coaching at the club he can be contacted by email: barry.jameson@tri4u.co.uk or phone: 07808 182781
There is a regular weekly timetable of swimming and running coached sessions which take place throughout the year. Cycling sessions for juniors take place in the spring, summer and early autumn. There are also turbo bike sessions for adults and youths/older juniors during the winter.
From time to time we also organise non-coached, social events for anyone who wishes to participate. These have included, for example, family cycle rides around Kielder Reservoir, mountain biking days at various locations and residential weekend training camps in the Lake District.
